The Drawing Tools in Word and Inkscape.

In this activity we have to use word and try and draw something in 3D. Sir gave us an example of a Ginger Bread Man which looked like this:

And this is What i drew :

Firstly I started with the house. i done a rectange and then made it in 3D form.

Then I went on to the top of the house. I done a triangle and made it in 3D.

Then I added some features to the house. As seen below.
Afterwards I thought of drawing a man which says something in a bubble, and I used circles, cones, lines and trapezoid. then added some colour and it looks like this:

The main difference between word and paint is that in word, you will have to press different buttons to make it 3D. And in paint you will actually have to draw it .

Then sir showed us how to use inkscape. It was really cool how you could kind of make a rough animation. And also the different tools on the software.

Notes

Draw V.S Paint

Drawing:
  • Drawing programs create images compose of objects (eg. squares, circles, shapes)
  • The objects can have properties such as colour and lime thickness.
  • These objects can easily be edited (we can change their shapes and colour)
  • Drawing Programs create vector files.
  • Example of a drawing program, Inkscape

Paint:

  • Paint programs create images pixel by pixel(no objects)
  • They cant be easily edited.
  • Files that they create are called Bitmapped files
  • Example of a paint program, MS paint, photoshop

Painting Tools

Our new activity is exploring the tools of paint net. Here is a screen shot of all of the tools on paint net.

We had to use the "Snipping Tool" and snip each of the tools and explain what each tool does. Sir wants us to explore each software so we can know what each tool can do, and it will help us in our project on animations.
What each tool does:

Selection Tools

Rectangle Select
You may use this to define a rectangle or square selection region.

Lasso Select
You may use this to draw a freeform selection region.

Ellipse Select
You may use this to draw an ellipse or circle selection region.

Magic Wand
You may use this to select areas of the active layer that are similar in color.

Move Tools

Move Selected Pixels
You are able to more things by using this tool.

Move Selection
you are able to move selected things without moving the

View Tools

Zoom
This tool can be used to zoom in and zoom out.

Pan
Using this tool you can scroll, or pan through the image.

Fill Tools

Paint Bucket
This tool  is useful to fill in areas with colour.

Gradient
this tool allows you to draw gradients (meaning blending in colours).
Drawing Tools

Paint Brush
this is useful to kids that want to draw easily.

Eraser
you may use this tool to erase areas in the image that you don't want.

Pencil
this allows you to edit the layer pixel by pixel.
Photo Tools

Colour Picker
you can use this tool to pick up any colour and use it as your primary or secondary colour.

Clone Stamp
this tool is useful for copying regions.

Recolour Tool
this tool lets you replace one colour with another.

Text and Shape Tools

Text tool
with this tool you can place text on the image

Line/Curve tool
you can draw straight lines and curves with this tool.

Rectangle
this can be used to draw rectangles and squares.

Round Rectangle
this can be used to draw rounded rectangles or rounded squares.

Ellipse
can use this to draw circles.

Freeform Shape
this can be used to draw a shape with a freeform outline.

Thats all the tools on Paint. Net

At the moment i really only have a little understanding of what our topic is about. But tomorrow is IST again so Sir will tell us more.
